"Starla, you should come out. You'll be safe enough to leave," I say as I walk over the box. I bend over to make the message clear. "She's done for now!"
"Is there a person in that box?" the ten-year old Cilla says, pulling at my jacket.
"Yes, there is. A very good friend of mine." I look at the box, glaring. "And she's safe for now! She should get out!" I sit back down, pulling out my computer. I finish up the last of my last post, and press enter. The box creaks open slightly. I pick up the box, putting it on a branch away from Zuki. "Just in case, Starla," I say, smiling. Daedalus looks at me. A pause.
"Hello? Daedalus?" I say, creeped out.
"Hello," He says.
"Why are you staring at me?" I say. Another pause. Starla comes out of her box, another wand raised with caution. Zuki reverts into a humanoid state. Starla walks over to Zuki, picking up her broken broom on the way. I follow her. She stares at the broken remains of her broom.
"I don't know if I can help, but I want to help in any way possible," I say, putting my hand on her shoulder. A tear falls down her cheek as she dejectedly put the remains of her broom in her box. She hands Zuki a knife.
"That's a bad idea, putting a knife into your enemy's hand," I say. Zuki takes the knife cautiously. Starla is standing there, her eyes blank with sorrow.
"I'm sorry I used you as an experiment, deary," She says "You may take your anger out on me, if you wish."
"I'm not one for killing witches. I'd need a flamethrower for that," Zuki says distastefully.
"A little prejudice, if I may say," I say.
"Yep." Zuki glares at me, while I laugh softly.
"I'll play diplomat here. Shake hands without killing each other, eh?" I say, smiling. I put my hand in my pocket, crossing my fingers.
"Nah," Zuki says, "I'm covered in blood."
I uncross my fingers. "At least try not to kill each other?" I say hopefully. I sigh as there is no response from the two, who glare at each other. "You people are incorrigible," I say, smiling slightly. "Great minds have a way of finding each other, eh?"
"We're abnormal," Daedalus says, smiling.
"Fine then," Starla says in response to and I. She storms off, almost as if she is leaving a storm cloud behind. I turn on my Ipod.
